This is essential to identify whether it increases or endangers the operation of the Nytro Flash module. The operational temperature can be read through the SATA SMART command from the Nytro Flash module that is on the Nytro controller, which responds to the SMART data of the operating temperature level. The temperature report is initiated by the application through an IOCTL to firmware. Firmware also generates an event to the administrative application when the temperature level goes above or below the operating temperature range provided as the default configuration parameter, and the application can choose to obtain the report on getting this event.</a></p> <p class="Body"><a name="3_4_6_18_3_1_3">The Flash Monitor report feature reports the wear-leveling or life curve status of the Nytro Flash module. The application can receive the report through an IOCTL. Firmware also generates an event to the administrative application when the life-curve status falls below the configured level, and the application can choose to get the report on getting this event. The Life Curve Status SMART attribute indicates the current throttling status of Nytro Flash module operation based on the life curve. The life curve for an Nytro Flash module is a program-erase (PE) usage schedule calculated based on the warranty period of the drive. It is a straight line that plots the number of PE cycle credits remaining over the lifetime or warranty period of the drive, assuming a constant PE cycle rate.</a></p> <p class="Body"><a name="3_4_6_18_3_1_4">There are two thresholds: warning and error. Based on the current state of the Nytro Flash module, the reported values also indicate its status. The possible values are optimal, warning, and critical.
